Farmington Hills, Mich. – Women's Soccer secured their first conference win with 1-0 victory over Michigan-Dearborn.
Addison Pell scored her second goal of the season in the 37th minute, which would be the game winning goal.
Corinne McGlassion made three saves securing another clean sheet while
Gracie Gortmaker tallied an assist with five shots. Women's Soccer will be back in action on Saturday, September 26th as they face UNOH with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
Game Recap: Cornerstone – 1 Michigan-Dearborn – 0
First Half:
- The match opened with a shot by Jada VanNoord late in the first minute which was saved by the Wolverines' keeper.
- Brooke Harmsen followed that up with two shots in the fifth and eighth minute of the game, her first hot going wide and her second saved by the keeper as the game stayed scoreless.
- Corinne McGlassion made here first save leading to a flurry of shots by the Golden Eagles.
- In the 14th and 21st minute, Maddie Mater fired two shots one which was saved and other wide of the goal.
- Gracie Gortmaker sent two shots towards the net in the 33rd and 36th minute with her first knocked away by the Michigan-Dearborn keeper and the other wide.
- A corner kick by Graice Gortmaker in the 37th minute led to Addison Pell scoring her second goal of the season, which gave Cornerstone a 1-0 lead that they took into halftime.
Second Half:
- The second half started with shots by Gracie Gortmaker and Ally Merrihew both off the mark.
- In the 53rd minute Corinne McGlassion made another save to maintain Cornerstone's one goal lead.
- Audrey Johnson fired two shots that were both blocked by a Wolverine defender followed by a shot from Brooke Harmsen which was saved by the UMD keeper.
- Ellie Schenkelberger added a shot of her own in the 65th minute but the shot was saved by the keeper.
- In the 82nd and 84th minute Gracie Gortmaker fired off two shots one blocked and the other saved as Cornerstone could not add to their lead.
- Brooke Harmsen closed out the game with a shot in the 89th minute, which was blocked, but CU secured the 1-0 victory.

Women's Soccer will be back in action on Saturday, September 26th as they face UNOH with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
