Liam, Ohio. – The Golden Eagles suffered defeat to the Racers, but not for a lack of skill and effort. The first half began quickly for the opposition, as they opened up the scoring in the fifth minute to go up 1-0. The Golden Eagles held their heads high and moved on, and were rewarded 12 minutes later with a goal scored by Jaideyn Koster, assisted by midfielder Brooke Harmsen. The score at halftime was level 1-1. Both teams traded chances in the second half, but the Racers found the breakthrough in the 75th minute that saw them retake the lead 2-1 with just 15 minutes left to play. Cornerstone were unable to find another chance in the second half and suffered a tough loss to a top ranked WHAC opponent 2-1. The next match for Women's Soccer will take place in Southfield, Mich. against the Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech. The game will be played on September 30th at 7 p.m.

In the 5th minute, #22 UNOH took an early lead, beginning the match hot 1-0.

After multiple chances, it only took Cornerstone 12 minutes to level it back up 1-1 after Jaideyn Koster knocked the ball into the back of the net off of a corner kick by Brooke Harmsen. Teams were back to where they started 1-1 in the 18th minute.

The 40th minute saw Brooke Harmsen fancy a shot, but it went just wide, denying Cornerstone the lead.

At the end of the first half, the score was tied 1-1 between Cornerstone and UNOH.
Second Half:

The open eight minutes saw Corinne McGlassion make three key saves that kept the score level 1-1.

The Golden Eagles seemed to have an offensive opportunity in the 63rd minute but it was called back for offsides.

The Racers let a shot fly in the 63rd minute, but it flew over the bar, as the score remained tied 1-1.

Madeline Billings took a shot in the 68th minute that forced a save out of the goalkeeper of UNOH, denying Cornerstone the lead.

UNOH kept pushing on offense towards the end of the match and were rewarded with a goal in the 75th minute that put them up 2-1.

The Golden Eagles were held to no more shots after the Racers took the lead, as Cornerstone fell in a close contest 2-1 to #22 UNOH.
