GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Johanna Egerer (SR/Plymouth, Wisc.) finished off a 4-0 week for the Golden Eagles as the senior middle hitter set a conference record for hitting percentage to lead CU to a 3-0 win over Concordia. Egerer posted a .867 hitting percentage as Cornerstone improves to 15-6 on the year and 8-3 in WHAC play. CU will start the second round of league action on Wednesday when they host Madonna at 7 p.m. 

How it Happened…
Cornerstone played four matches this week and finished with 12 set wins out of 13. The win against Concordia saw the Golden Eagles hold the Cardinals to under 20 points in each of the three sets. CU hit at a .339 clip while holding CUAA to just .123.

The first set was dominated by the home team but then the Cardinals made the second closer until Cornerstone took a 16-16 score and rattled off nine of the next 12 points to win 25-19. The third was also close until the middle points as CU's offense was too much for the Cardinal defense.

Johanna Egerer had 13 kills on just 15 attempts with 0 errors as she broke the conference hitting percentage record in a single match (.867). The previous record was held by Cornerstone's Cailie Schultz (.824 in 2014).
