GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The men's soccer team went on the road to face a tough Marygrove team this afternoon and thanks to a
Caleb Colp goal in the 14' came away with a 1-1 draw. The result keeps the Golden Eagles in the hunt for a home playoff match in the WHAC Tournament as they are 7-4-2 overall and 3-1-2 in league play. CU will host Siena Heights on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Game Flow
Playing in a location where CU has not seen much success over the last few years, the Golden Eagles fell behind early as the Mustangs converted a PK in the 13'. CU did not fall back though as
Caleb Colp knotted the match up at 1-1 on a beautiful header off the feed from Manual Bayer just 57 seconds after the Marygrove goal.
After playing the remaining 76:18 of the match scorless, the two teams went into overtime where neither side could get a shot past the keepers with
Dary DeWalt finishing with nine saves and Austin Valentine seven.
