GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone Volleyball played their eighth 5-set contest of the season tonight and picked up their eighth win in such matches as they held off Aquinas to win their 13
th straight win. The Golden Eagles won sets one, three and five to improve to 23-7 overall and 10-1 in the WHAC. CU will host Great Lakes Christian and Marygrove on Friday as well as Lawrence Tech on Saturday.

It was a tail of two teams playing completely different in opposite sets tonight as Cornerstone controlled sets one, three and five as they won 25-18 in the opener, 25-13 in the swing set and 15-8 in the decider to pick up their 13
th straight win.
CU hit .171 in the first, -.028 in the second, .281 in the third, .000 in the fourth and .333 in the fifth. as the three wins came when they hit above .000 with
Ellie Van Laar and
Heather Green each finishing with 12 kills to lead the CU attack. With their offense struggling, CU turned to their defense as Van Laar and
Hope Leppink each led the team with five blocks while
Kendra Zwart had four.

Cornerstone will host three matches this weekend starting Friday with a 4 p.m. contest against Great Lakes Christian. CU will follow with a 7 p.m. WHAC match vs. Marygrove and then a 1 p.m. match vs. Lawrence Tech on Saturday.
