LIMA, Ohio – Cornerstone ended the Racers 8-match shutout streak with an early second-half goal but the host Racers posted three goals of their own to down CU 3-1. The loss is just the second of the year for CU in WHAC matches as they fall to 9-5-2 overall and 5-2-2 in league action. CU will host rival Aquinas on Wednesday, October 26 at 7 p.m.
Game Flow
Northwestern Ohio, which came into the match the highest ranked team from the WHAC in the latest MRPI ranking, put up two goals in the first 22 minutes on Saturday which put the Golden Eagles in a big hole.
Trailing by the same margin coming out of halftime,
Kevin Doornbos cut the lead in half as he scored on a header from the pass of
Caleb Colp. That goal was quickly responded with the Racers' third tally of the match just 4:35 later to extend the lead back to two goals and that is how the contest would finish.

The Golden Eagles will head back home to host rival Aquinas on Wednesday night. The match has major implications for the upcoming WHAC Tournament as both the Golden Eagles and Saints are fighting for home first round matches.
