GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone volleyball team plays just one match this week as they welcome Concordia University (Mich.) to Mol Arena for a 7 p.m. Wednesday night contest. Cornerstone is fresh off a 3-0 week that featured an upset win over No. 16 Madonna that kept CU second in the WHAC.

Scouting Concordia
Head coach Karen Graves and her Cardinals come into the contest with an overall record of 13-11 but they are just 2-6 in conference play. CUAA went 1-2 last week with losses to Davenport and Lawrence Tech while defeating Marygrove. Erica DenBoer (249 kills) and Alisha Anderson (228 kills) lead the way on offense for the Cardinals while Claire Truskowski (530 assists) and den Boer (307) are the primary setters. As a team, Concordia averaged 11.3 kills per set while hitting at a .214 clip.
Look Back to Last Week
Cornerstone went 3-0 last week with a sweep of UM-Dearborn culminating a pair of 3-1 wins over Siena Heights and #16 Madonna. The Golden Eagles defeated the Crusaders for the first time since 2011 to keep pace with No. 12 Lourdes in the WHAC's western division.
Zwart named WHAC Attacker and Defender of the Week
Kendra was named the Attacker of the Week for the second time this season and was honored by the league for the third straight week. Zwart had a match-high 17 kills in the Golden Eagles' 3-1 upset of No. 16 Madonna on Friday night and averaged 3.20 kills per set while hitting at a .303 clip. Kendra has been dominant at the net over the last few weeks and that included posting 20 total blocks in the three CU wins. She had 10 in the upset win over Madonna and then had seven while playing in only two sets against UM-Dearborn.
Leppink named WHAC Setter of the Week
Leppink earned the top setter spot for the third straight week after posting 101 assists in three wins (an average of 10.1 per set). Leppink is currently third in the WHAC in that category with an average of 9.6 assists per set. Leppink also chipped in with 23 digs and five blocks on the 3-0 week for CU.
What's Next?
Cornerstone will have the weekend off due to CU's Fall Break and they will resume action next Wednesday at home when they welcome in Davenport for a 7 p.m. contest. The Golden Eagles will then host their annual AQ/CU Classic over the weekend of October 14-15 as they will play four matches in two days.
