Match Flow…
Looking to continue their recent string of success, the Cornerstone Volleyball team came out a little slow in the opening set and thanks to a .464 hitting percentage, the Cardinals of Concordia took a 1-0 lead with a 25-20 win.
CU then buckled down in the next two sets, winning by identical scores of 25-16 to take a 2-1 lead. The Golden Eagles hit .235 in the second and .414 in the third while limiting the Cardinals to .025 and .100. Most of those kills came from the pair of middle hitters in
Ellie Van Laar and
Kendra Zwart who combined for 32 kills on the night.
Set four was back and forth early until a seven point run put CU up for good although the Cardinals did rally to keep it close late with a 25-21 Golden Eagle win.
