GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone Volleyball team finished off a perfect home slate with a 3-1 win over Siena Heights in the second round of the WHAC Tournament on Wednesday night. The 22-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-11 victory is the 21
st straight overall for CU as they will take on No. 24 Madonna on Friday in one of two semifinal matches held at Lourdes University at 5 p.m.

Cornerstone came out red hot in the opening set as they used an 9-point run behind the strong serving of
Kenzie Engelsma to turn an 8-7 deficit into a 16-8 lead. That lead stayed the same at 20-12 but the Saints roared back with nine straight points to take a 21-20 lead in which they went on to win 25-22.
Set two was tight throughout and after the 13
th tie made it 21-21, Cornerstone used a 4-0 run behind three kills from
Heather Green and
Ellie Van Laar and an error from SHU to close out the 25-21 win. The third set was close again with CU falling behind by as many as five (8-3) only to rally to take a 22-18 lead. After a SHU timeout, the Saints scored four straight of their own to knot it at 22 but CU scored four of the last six with the final point coming from a
Madison Herrema kill to win 26-24.
Set four was dominated by the Golden Eagles from start to finish as they made quick work thanks to an offense that hit .323 and a defense that limited the Saints to a -.027 hitting %.

Cornerstone will hit the road to Sylvania, Ohio for the WHAC Semifinals and Finals. CU will face No. 24 Madonna on Friday at 5 p.m. with the winner advancing to Saturday's championship match at 1 p,m, vs. either Davenport or No. 10 Lourdes.
