ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. –
Caleb Colp notched a pair of goals as CU jumped out to an early lead on Wednesday evening to eventually claim a 5-1 decision over host Robert Morris. The victory is the fourth straight for the Golden Eagles as they improve to 4-3 on the season. CU will now have 10 days off before they open conference play on Saturday, September 24 at Lawrence Tech.
Game Flow
Cornerstone jumped out to a quick lead as
Kevin Doornbos netted his fourth goal of the season in the 11'. The scoring continued for CU just over two minutes later as
Josue Uquillas scored his first goal of the season on a sweet double-assist from Doornbos and
Habin Bang.
After coming out of halftime leading 2-0, the Golden Eagles saw their lead cut in half in the 54' but CU responded with three straight goals to finish the night.
Caleb Colp scored his first of two on a nice feed from
Kevin Nimmo and his tally was followed by the first goal from
Sebastian Ramos. Colp finished the scoring in the 83' on a double-feed from
Kevin Nimmo and
Regan Billings.
