Kevin Nimmo finished it as the junior netted an overtime goal in the 95
' to help the Golden Eagles down Lawrence Tech 2-1. CU has now won its last five matches as they improve to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in the WHAC. CU will host No. 3 Davenport on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Game Flow
Cornerstone jumped out to a quick lead as
Kevin Doornbos netted his fifth goal of the season in the 3'. The goal came off a nice feed from his brother
Kyle Doornbos and CU held the lead until the 32' when LTU scored to tie it at 1-1.
The second half was a battle between the 18's as neither team generated too much of offense as there were only six shots total in the final 45 minutes. Heading into overtime for the second time in their last four matches, the Golden Eagles put heavy pressure on and after a red card on the LTU defender who stopped a goal from scoring,
Kevin Nimmo got a penalty kick. Nimmo was unsuccesful but a follow by the junior beat the keeper and gave CU the win.
