LIMA, Ohio. – Junior outside hitter Heather Green and her companion, freshman Madison Herrema, recorded career highs in kills as they led the Golden Eagles to a 5-set win at Northwestern Ohio on Friday night. The duo combined for 38 kills as they helped CU improve to 9-6 overall and 3-0 in the WHAC. Cornerstone remains on the road to face Indiana Tech on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Match Flow…

The first two sets were identical with each the Golden Eagles and Racers winning by 25-23 scores. UNOH then took a leg up in the match as they recorded a 25-21 win in the third only to see CU dominate the fourth (25-13) to send it to a fifth set.

Cornerstone raced out to a 5-1 lead in the deciding set highlighted by three straight kills from Heather Green and one from Alex Polakovich which forced the Racers into a timeout. UNOH then scored the next seven points to take an 8-5 lead at the side-switch but CU came back with their own run, this one a 9-5 one which set up match point but CU then had two service errors with a chance to put away the match.
