GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In their annual Night of Nets match, the Cornerstone Men's Soccer team battled a tough Madonna side as well as mother nature as they posted a 0-0 draw against the Crusaders. The tie puts CU's record at 5-4-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the WHAC as they will host Concordia (Mich.) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5.
Game Flow
On a cool and very wet day in West Michigan, the Golden Eagles and Crusaders played mainly between the 18's although each team did have chances to put the ball in the back of the net.
Cornerstone had four shots hit off the post including one in the late stages of the first overtime but both goalkeepers managed to keep the match scoreless. CU finished with a 14-9 edge in shots (5-3 on goal) with
Richard Areche leading the way with four.
