LIVONIA, Mich. – The Golden Eagles came out on fire in this one, earning an early 14 point lead powered by 24 first half points by
Jesse Sheridan, but Madonna chipped away in the second half to come back and win 80-78. Cornerstone has now dropped three straight for the first time this season, moving their record to 11-13, 8-8 WHAC. CU will return home on Wednesday, February 1 as they wrap up the season series with Lourdes at 5:30 p.m.

Jesse Sheridan powered the Golden Eagles to a hot start giving them their largest lead of14 just nine minutes into the game. Cornerstone maintained an 8-12 point advantage throughout the second quarter, as the offense was clicking on all cylinders shooting 56.3% from the field, resulting in a 42-33 lead at the half.
Madonna made the necessary adjustments to begin the second half and started the process of chipping away in the third quarter, as 11 points from Becca Sabol and eight points by Lindsey Hernden gave the Crusaders a one point advantage at the end of the period. The fourth quarter was heavily back and fourth, as neither team could gain more than a five point lead throughout the period. A late Madonna three pointer proved costly for the Golden Eagles, resulting in a two-point loss, 80-78.
