ADRIAN, Mich. – Cornerstone earns their first win in Adrian, Michigan since January of 2011, downing No. 22 Siena Heights 67-58 in the conference opener. CU has now won two consecutive games to move their record to 2-4, 1-0 WHAC in the early season. The guard play was a huge factor in today's victory as

Lizzy Otten combined for 41 points on 16-37 shooting. Action will continue for the Golden Eagles at former WHAC rival Davenport on Monday night at 7 p.m.
Game Flow
The offense was flowing for both sides early on, trading buckets for much of the first quarter. A three by
Lizzy Otten at the first quarter buzzer put Cornerstone in the lead at 15-14. CU then started to pull away in the second, ending the period on an 11-2 run. The guard play of
Jesse Sheridan and Elizabeth Otten combined for 24 points in the first half; while
Shelby Nyboer found eight points of her own to help the Golden Eagles take a 40-30 lead into halftime.
The offense slowed down for the Golden Eagles to begin the third quarter, as a few turnovers allowed Siena Heights to cut the CU lead to just five with 24 seconds left in the period. Although,
Jesse Sheridan went on a personal 11-1 run to help Cornerstone bring their lead to a game high 15 points with 8:02 remaining in the fourth. Some strong defense then helped the Golden Eagles maintain a double-digit lead for the majority of the fourth, on their way to a 67-58 upset victory.
