GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Five different players reached double-figure scoring for the No. 1 ranked Golden Eagles as they easily took down Hope College on Friday night in the opening game of the GR Sports Hall of Fame Classic. The victory is the seventh in a row overall for CU as they will take a 7-2 record into Saturday's 6 p.m. contest against Calvin College.
Game Flow
The long-distance shot was falling early and often for the Golden Eagles as
Michael Bradshaw,
Christian Rodriguez and
Riley Costen all got into the mix which helped them build a big lead in the opening half. After Hope cut the margin to single digits, CU then went inside to
Sam Vander Sluis and
Kyle Steigenga to eventually push the lead to 17 at the break.
The lead only continued to grow in the second half as multiple CU players got into the scoring column and Hope had no answer for the inside game or deep-threat that the Golden Eagles gave them.
