12 triples help Men’s Basketball defeat Calvin 88-59

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone used a dominating effort from behind the arc and also from inside the paint as the No. 1 ranked Golden Eagles defeated Calvin College 88-59 in the final game of the GR Sports Hall of Fame Classic. The win gives CU their third straight perfect record in the event as they improve to 8-2 overall. Cornerstone will return to conference play on Wednesday when they are back at Aquinas College, this time against the host Saints in a 7 p.m. tip-off.

That lead continued to grow into the second as CU caught fire from behind the arc and they would go on to make 12 triples in the game, five coming from Kyle Steigenga to post an easy 29-point win over their rivals from down the East Beltline.
