Game Flow
Both Cornerstone and Aquinas got off to a sluggish start in the first quarter, each shooting 33.3% from the field. CU maintained the lead for much of the second quarter after trailing 18-15 to end the first, but a late 6-0 run by the Saints gave them the 32-30 lead at the half. Junior
Jesse Sheridan was the lone bright spot offensively for the Golden Eagles in the first half, as she led all scorers with 15 points on 6-11 shooting.
Cornerstone was again sluggish to start the second half, as a few turnovers allowed AQ to get a five-point lead and force CU into a timeout. Out of the timeout, the Golden Eagles regained their rhythm, taking a 44-42 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Lizzy Otten started to heat up shooting the ball, scoring all 11 of her points in the second half, but a dominant performance on the boards in the fourth helped Aquinas pull away for a 75-62 victory.
