GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone posted a sweep of visiting Lourdes on Wednesday night to not only clinch a berth in the upcoming WHAC Tournament but also claim the program's 100
th win since re-starting it in 2013. The 15-4 (8) and 6-1 wins over the Gray Wolves lift CU to 24-27 on the year and 15-15 in the WHAC. CU will conclude the regular season on Friday with a 1 p.m. game at Lourdes.
Game 1 – The bats were alive and well as the Golden Eagles tied their season high with 22 hits while posting 15 runs in the 8-inning win. CU got it started with six hits in the opening frame as they brought across five runs to take a 5-0 lead. Picking up RBI's were

Joe Corsten and
Adam Harvey (2).
After LU cut into the lead with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first, CU would go on to outscore the Gray Wolves 10-1 the rest of the way. CU added single runs in the 5
th on a
Brady Eeles RBI single and 7
th on an RBI single from
Seth Reigner. The game finished with a 7-run eighth inning that was highlighted by a 3-run home run off the bat of
Jonny Abbadusky. CU then closed out the mercy-rule win as Evan Wager made a highlight-reel catch over the bullpen fence for the final out.
Brett Shure, who came on in relief in the third inning, got the win on the mound as the sophomore went six innings while allowing just two hits, zero runs and striking out one.
Game 2 – The Cornerstone bats continued to put pressure on the Lourdes' defense as they put up 15 more hits and slowly pulled away from the Gray Wolves to complete the sweep. CU scored in four different innings and it got started in the second when
Brady Volmering brought home Reigner on a sac-fly.
CU added to its lead when Volmering tripled home
Aaron Krupansky and he was then brought home by
Jon Stewart to put the Golden Eagles up 3-0. Despite leaving numerous runners on in the middle portion of the game, Cornerstone continued to pull away as
Jonny Abbadusky had an RBI in the sixth which was followed by a Chris O'Neill sac fly.
Clay Keltner was solid on the mound to get the win as he allowed only two hits in five innings of work.
