LIVONIA, Mich. – Cornerstone continued WHAC action on Friday afternoon at Madonna. Madonna entered the match with a 7-1 record, 2-0 in the WHAC, including a 2-1 win over conference powerhouse UNOH earlier this week. After 110 minutes of scoreless action, the Golden Eagles came away with their third draw of the season, bringing their record to 2-3-3 overall, 1-0-2 in the WHAC. The Golden Eagles will travel to Ann Arbor on October 3 for a 2pm match at Concordia.
Game Flow
The teams only tallied two shots apiece in a very uneventful first half. Cornerstone tallied nine shots in the second half but couldn't capitalize. Madonna's only two shots on goal of the afternoon came in the second half.
David Mutembezi had two quality scoring chances: A header shot off the crossbar toward the end of regulation, and a header off the post in overtime. Cornerstone also had nine corner kicks over the course of the game, but couldn't find the back of the net.
