SYLVANIA, Ohio. – The Golden Eagles traveled to Sylvania, Ohio on Saturday to take on the Gray Wolves of Lourdes. A pair of early goals allowed the team to coast to a 2-0 shutout victory. Since starting the season 1-5-1 overall, Cornerstone has won five of seven conference games for a 6-7-1 overall record. The team will hit the road again on Wednesday to face UM-Dearborn at 4:00 p.m.
How it happened:
- Senior David Mutembezi scored a goal off a free kick in the 13th minute, his second free kick goal of the season.
- Two minutes after Mutembezi scored, Logan Johns registered his first career goal off a header from a pass from Brennan Joseph.
- The Golden Eagles had an opportunity to bury a third in the 54th minute with two corner kicks but Lourdes prevented further damage.
