35-match home win streak halted by UNOH in 5-set loss

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Northwestern Ohio became the first team since October of 2015 to defeat Cornerstone on its home floor and they did it by winning the fourth and fifth sets in a 5-set marathon. The 25-22, 22-25, 25-15, 22-25, 10-15 loss for the Golden Eagles drops them to 16-8 on the year and 8-4 in league play. CU will host rival Aquinas on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 p.m.

  • The two teams traded the opening sets by the same score of 25-22
  • The offense rolled in the third set as CU had 13 kills and hit .353
  • Comparatively, CU only had 13 kills in the next two sets combined as they fell 25-22, and 15-10
  • Kendra Zwart and Jackie Stanko combined for 30 kills with two errors on 57 attempts (.491)
