GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone went without a field goal for almost nine minutes and saw the host Calvin Knights build as big a lead of 17 in the first half to post a 70-62 win on Friday night. The loss, in the first game of the 2018 GR Sports Hall of Fame Classic for CU, drops them to 7-3 on the year and the Golden Eagles will look to rebound on Saturday as they will take on Hope at 6 p.m. back on the campus of Calvin College.

Let's Get Social

Say What?
"That was as poor of effort we have given in quite some time but I was pleased with the energy to get us back in the game. We played with urgency and played together. Unfortunately that was not enough after that kind of performance in the first half" – Head coach Kim Elders

By the Numbers
43-41 – CU was out-rebounded by two and all three of their losses have come when they have less rebounds
20/11 – Sam Vander Sluis posted his tenth straight double-double of the season
11-5 – CU had a total of 11 turnovers (8 in the first half) compared to only five by Calvin
37.1 – Cornerstone suffered their worst shooting performance of the year (23/62)
15/13/10 – Reaching double-figure scoring was Tyler Baker, Riley Costen and Christian Rodriguez
