GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After struggling in the opening 20 minutes on Friday night against host Calvin, the Cornerstone men's basketball team exploded for the first 13 points in tonight's 70-58 victory over Hope College. The win lifts CU to 8-3 on the season as they will get back into conference play on Wednesday when they host Lawrence Tech at 7:30 p.m.

- CU scored the first 13 points of the game and the run was finished by a Gabe Meriwether 3-pointer
- Hope trimmed the lead down to as few as two (28-26)
- Cornerstone responded with six straight points but the Dutchmen scored nine of the final 13 points to make it 38-35 in favor of CU at the half
- Sam Vander Sluis then scored 14 of CU's first 16 points of the second half and the Golden Eagles increased their lead to 10 (54-44)
- The lead slowly grew for the remainder of the half and CU led by as many as 17 (68-51)
