CU looks to rebound after their first conference loss was handed to them last time out at No. 16 Indiana Tech. Scouting Northwestern Ohio
Northwestern Ohio has posted a 4-9, 1-5 WHAC record early in the season and fell 92-69 to no. 6 Mount Vernon Nazarene last time out. The Racers are a very young team with a lot of length, with just two seniors and seven freshmen on the roster with 14 of the 15 players being 6-2 or taller. The Racers currently rank 12th in all of NAIA DII with 49 total blocks on the year. Offensively, UNOH is led by freshman Zach Montes who is averaging a team best 16.4 PPG and 2.4 APG. Sophomore Nathan Lessing has also been productive offensively averaging 15.2 points per game. The Racers are coached by Caleb Williams who is in his second season and has posted a 18-25 all-time record.

Kim Elders has lost just twice in 19 all-time matchups against the Racers since they joined the WHAC in 2010. The Golden Eagles have won each of the last nine matchups all by double-figures. The two losses for CU in this matchup came in 2013 and 2014 and the two losses were by a combined three points.

Sam Vander Sluis has best former high school and college teammate
Kyle Steigenga for second in program history for career rebounds with 1,208. Vander Sluis is just 24 rebounds away from passing Jim Eppink (1983-87) and becoming the all-time leader in program history. Vander Sluis had an outstanding week rebounding the ball, tying a Cornerstone individual game record with 23 in the win vs. Madonna and then he added 16 more at Indiana Tech.

Cornerstone continues to lead the nation in blocks per game (5.4), total blocks (81), and total rebounds (638). CU also ranks 10th in the nation in scoring offense with 1,198 points this season.

Sam Vander Sluis leads all of NAIA DII athletes with 42 blocks this season and 223 total rebounds.
Christian Rodriguez is fifth in the nation in total assists with 76 on the year.
Riley Costen also finds himself in the top 25 in free throw percentage, ranking 24th in the country shooting 87.0% from the line.
