Huge run and balanced scoring lifts Women’s Hoops to 69-52 road win

LIMA, Ohio – Cornerstone used a 21-0 run in the first quarter to separate themselves from the Racers of Northwestern Ohio as they cruised to a 17-point win on the road on Saturday afternoon. Game Flow
Both teams scored on their opening possession but it was all Cornerstone after that in the opening 10 minutes of play as they would go on to score the game's next 21 points to open a 23-2 lead. The run was started with three straight points from Cass Vredevoogd and finished by a 3-pointer from Shelby Nyboer. The run lifted CU to a 26-9 lead at the end of one quarter and they upped that lead to 40-19 at the break. Seven different players had at least five points in the opening 20 minutes for CU.

After UNOH scored early in the third quarter, CU again got hot, behind the hands of Jesse Sheridan who scored two quick buckets and with the help of Lizzy Otten and Sydney Muller, the Golden Eagles increased the lead to as many as 27. CU would eventually lead 65-38 at the end of three quarters. All players on the Cornerstone bench played a majority of the fourth quarter as they rolled to their 11th win of the conference season to sit in third alone.
