FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference picked up play back in the Great Lakes region this weekend and Cornerstone faced tough competition at Indiana Tech with the host Warriors posting a 3-2 and 3-1 win in a pair of 9-inning games on Friday afternoon. The two teams will resume action in the weekend-series on Saturday with a 3 p.m. first-pitch.
Game 1 –
Collin Young and Indiana Tech starter McBroom had it going throughout their dual as neither team was able to score in the first three innings. The Warriors broke through with an RBI double in the fourth only to see CU come back with two straight runs to take a 2-1 lead.
The Golden Eagles got their first run on an
Aaron Krupansky home run and then took the lead on a misplay by Indiana Tech in the field in the sixth inning. That lead held until the bottom half of the inning when IT would bring home a pair of runs on a deep double to left field and that would eventually be the game winning RBI.

Game 2 –
Kyle Herrick was strong on the mound for CU as he went the first four innings without allowing a run and entered the fifth with a 1-0 lead thanks to a
Jon Stewart double that scored
Gabe Zeiger. The Warriors' bats came alive in the 5th as they got a sacrifice fly to tie up the score. Heading to the 8th knotted at 1-1, Indiana Tech then scored the next two runs to take a 3-1 lead in which they would hold on to for the doubleheader sweep.
