LIMA, Ohio – After holding a four-run lead, Cornerstone would fall in extra innings by way of an RBI single from Jose Paulino. CU drops all three games in Lima, Ohio to fall to 16-18, 7-14 WHAC on the year. The Golden Eagles will get set to return home on Tuesday and Wednesday for a three-game series against WHAC foe Lourdes University.
Game Flow –
Zach Brog recorded his third start of the year in this one and despite not giving up a hit, got off to a bit of a sloppy start with five walks, two balks, and two wild pitches that gave UNOH a 2-0 lead after two innings of play.
Noah Reed than came in to pitch to start the third, settling things down for the next four innings of work.
The CU offense found its stride in the top of the fourth scoring four runs, highlighted by RBI singles from
Jarod Burton,
Jon Stewart, and
Adam Harvey to give CU a 4-2 lead.
Jan Elias would come around to score in the top of the sixth after a leadoff walk to advance the Cornerstone lead to 5-2.
Aaron Krupansky would then record a big two out single to add another run for the Golden Eagles and make the lead 6-2.
The Golden Eagles would run into some trouble in the seventh, needing three different pitchers in the inning to prevent the Racers from regaining the lead. UNOH was able to score four in the inning though to tie the game up at 6-6.
No runs would score until the bottom of the 10
thwhen Jose Paulino singled to center field to give UNOH a walk-off 7-6 victory over the Golden Eagles.

What's Next
The Golden Eagles will return to De Witt Field for a Tuesday and Wednesday series against Lourdes. Social media night will take place during Tuesday's nine-inning game that starts at 5 p.m.
