GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles defeated Aquinas 2-1 in a thrilling overtime match on Wednesday evening. The win boosts Cornerstone's record to 3-5-1, 2-0 WHAC. The team will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at Indiana Tech for a noon kickoff.

Aquinas struck first with 15 minutes to play in the first half when a shot slipped through to the back of the net.

Cornerstone outshot Aquinas 8-1 in the first half with several quality scoring chances.

As time began to expire in the second half, the Golden Eagles earned a free kick just a couple yards outside the box. David Mutembezi bulleted one into the lower right corner to even it up.
