Men's Soccer overpowered by #17 UNOH

LIMA, Ohio – The Golden Eagles continued their conference slate on Saturday afternoon in Lima, Ohio against 17th-ranked Northwestern Ohio. The Racers scored once in the first half and twice in the second to secure a 3-0 victory over the Golden Eagles, who fall to 1-10-1 overall, 0-5 WHAC. 

The Highlights:
  • The Racers scored in the 17th minute when their fourth shot of the game found of the back of the net.
  • Northwestern Ohio outshot Cornerstone 11-0 in the first 45 minutes of play.
  • Felipe Melo of Northwestern Ohio doubled his team's lead in the 57th minute before Mikhail Radchenko added another insurance goal in the 74th minute. 

By the Numbers:
  • The Racers had 12 corner kicks on the match, including eight in the second half. 
  • The Golden Eagles were held to only one shot attempt, taken by Luke Blickley in the 58th minute. 
  • Both teams were whistled for 10 fouls. 

What's Next:
The Golden Eagles will travel to Siena Heights on Wednesday evening for a 7:00 p.m. contest before hosting Lourdes in the annual Night of Nets match on Friday night, which is also scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
