DEARBORN, Mich. – The Golden Eagles started the season ending four game road trip with a sweep at UM-Dearborn, taking down the Wolverines 25-18, 25-15, 25-18.
Jackie Stanko continued her strong end to the season recording a team high and five blocks in the win. Cornerstone is now 12-16, 9-8 WHAC as they get set to travel to Lourdes on Friday, November 1 for a 7 p.m. match.
Game Recap – CU – 3 UM-D – 0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-18)
- Cornerstone got off to a strong start, taking a 5-1 lead that saw kills from Patsy Morris and Jackie Stanko.
- UM-Dearborn responded to take the lead in set one, but Cornerstone finished strong with a 7-1 run to help win set one 25-18.
- The Wolverines had 13 errors in the first set.
- The Golden Eagles again had a strong start to set two getting out to an 11-4 lead highlighted by a pair of service aces from Olivia Keelean.
- A kill by Bailey Cummings ended set two for CU with a 25-15 victory.
- Hannah Stearns got action in the third set and recorded a kill to make it 8-4.
- UM-Dearborn went on a 7-0 run to take an 11-9 lead, but Cornerstone once again responded with a 7-0 run of their own to go back on top 19-14.
- Olivia Keelean recorded match point with a kill to win set three 25-18.
