ADRIAN, Mich. – Junior point guard
Christian Rodriguez went for a career high 32 points as the No. 12 Golden Eagles held on to defeat a tough receiving votes Siena Heights squad 75-74 on the road. CU has now won four straight games to improve to 6-2, 2-0 WHAC on the year. Cornerstone will return home on Saturday for another tough test against No. 23 Indiana Tech at 3 p.m.

- The home Saints got off to a fast offensive start in a high scoring first half, taking a 10-4 lead in the first 2:30 of the game that was highlighted by a DeMarco Dickerson dunk.
- Tyler Baker went on a 5-0 run and Kyle Hayes hit a free throw to cut the deficit to three 15 minutes to remain in the first half.
- Siena Heights maintained the lead throughout the first half, going up by as many as nine with 5:58 to play.
- Cornerstone went on a 10-0 run that was capped off by a Christian Rodriguez three to give them their first lead of the game since the opening minute at 30-29.
- Christian Rodriguez scored eight of his 14 first half points in the final four minutes.
- SHU's Kevin Smith hit a three with four second remaining in the half to give the Saints a 40-37 lead at the break.
- Cornerstone got to the line early in the second half going 5-6 at the strike before Gabe Meriwether hit the first field goal of the period with a corner three to give CU a 45-42 lead.
- Christian Rodriguez hit a big three after a slow offensive start for both squads to give CU their largest lead of five points.
- CU continued to draw fouls throughout the second half getting to the one-and-one just eight minutes into the period.
- Christian Rodriguez took over in the middle of the second half, scoring eight of the Golden Eagles next 10 points to get CU out to their largest lead at 65-55 with 8:29 to play.
- Siena Heights was able to cut the Cornerstone lead to three and force Cornerstone into a timeout with 2:53 remaining and a 70-67 score.
- Tyler Baker hit a huge layup out of the timeout to give CU a five-point lead.
- Siena Heights press caused issues for the Golden Eagles in the final minute giving the Saints a chance to tie with 20 seconds remaining. The three was missed and CU hit a free throw to go up by four. SHU hit a last second three but it was not enough as Cornerstone held on to win 75-74.
