MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Golden Eagles kicked off the 2019 campaign on Thursday evening in Indiana against Bethel. The Pilots came out firing right out of the gate, outshooting the Golden Eagles 10-0 in the first half en route to a commanding 5-0 shutout of the young CU team.
Notable:
- After opening the scoring with 16 minutes to go in the first half, the Pilots doubled their lead just seconds before halftime.
- Christian Galloway tallied the lone shot on goal for the Golden Eagles in his return to the field after missing most of last season with a leg injury.
- Bethel scored three goals in the final 20 minutes to put the game away.
- The five Bethel goals were scored by five different players.
