GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles rebounded with a sweep of the UM-Dearborn Wolverines on Wednesday night during Cornerstone volleyball's Night of Nets match. The team earned 25-16, 25-11, 25-22 set victories in the final match of a three-game homestand. CU is now 6-7, 3-2 WHAC as they get set to take on Rochester and Lawrence Tech over the weekend.
Game Recap – CU – 3 UM-D – 0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-22)
- After trailing 6-3 in the first set, Cornerstone rattled off a 7-0 run that saw an ace from Patsy Morris and a kill from Jackie Stanko to give the team a 12-8 lead.
- The Golden Eagles dominated the remainder of set one, winning 25-16 with set point coming on a Bailey Cummings service ace.
- Set two was the most dominant for the Golden Eagles, getting out to a 14-7 lead on a kill by Olivia Keelean.
- CU held the Wolverines to just 11 points and just four kills in set two, winning 25-11.
- Taylor Huizenga, Hannah Stearns, Kaylee Dykema, and Eleyna Zichterman all got time in the third set, as Dykema recorded an impressive six kills in the set.
- Cornerstone led 24-19, but the Wolverines would go on a 3-0 run before Bailey Cummings put the match away with a kill giving the Golden Eagles the sweep at 25-22.

- Freshman Kaylee Dykema's six kills are a career high.
- Alexis Angus recorded a team high 13 kills on the match.
- Cornerstone recorded 20 of their 25 points on kills in both the second and third sets.
- CU hit .298 for the match.

What's Next?
Cornerstone hits the road this weekend as they will take on Rochester University at 7 p.m. on Friday and Lawrence Tech on 11 a.m. on Saturday for a pair of WHAC matches.
