Men's Soccer stifled by No. 10 Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Golden Eagles concluded their season-opening four-game road stretch on Tuesday evening down in Spring Arbor. The Cougars quickly proved why they are ranked #10 in the preseason NAIA Men's Soccer poll with two goals in the first 13 minutes of action en route to a 5-0 shutout of the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone's record drops to 0-4 heading into a seven-day rest before hosting Olivet Nazarene and Marian next week.

The Highlights:
  • Salvation Nkiko tallied the team's first two shots on goal, both came off corner kicks early in the first half.
  • Spring Arbor's Cole Russell scored both goals of the first frame within three minutes of each other.
  • Russell completed the hat trick in the second half before the Cougars tacked on two more goals to solidify the shutout.
