WYOMING, Mich. – The Golden Eagles continued their season on Monday night at Grace Christian. After an evenly matched first half, the Golden Eagles soared to an 82-61 victory thanks to a dominant second half showing. The win brings Cornerstone's record to an even 3-3 heading into Saturday afternoon's game at Mount Vernon Nazarene.
How it happened:
- After trading buckets early, the Tigers went on a 10-0 run to take a 15-6 lead.
- Kennedy Helderop had three-point plays in back-to-back possessions with a triple followed by an And-1 bucket with the free throw. Katelyn Siebert ended the first quarter with a three-pointer to cut Grace's lead to just one, 18-17.
- Allyson Richards scored eight points in the second quarter but the Tigers went into halftime with a one-point lead, 36-35
- Back-to-back buckets from Ellen Kresge in the middle of the third quarter gave the Golden Eagles their first double digit lead of the night, 55-45.
- Sterling DeGayner and Layna Steele ended the third quarter with back-to-back three-pointers to give Cornerstone a healthy 64-48 lead.
- Cornerstone maintained their lead throughout the fourth quarter and ended up winning 82-61.
By the numbers:
21 – The 21-point victory is the largest margin of victory for CU since the 2017-18 season.

Layna Steele led the way for CU with 19 points

Allyson Richards got her first double double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
4 – Cornerstone had four players in double digits as
Kennedy Helderop and
Sterling DeGayner each put up 10 points to join Richards and Steele in the double digit club.

Maddison Fulks came off the bench and filled the stat sheet with seven points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
What's next?
Cornerstone (3-3) will be on the road to Ohio on Saturday to take on Mount Vernon Nazarene in a 1 p.m. contest, which will be their sixth road game of the season.
