GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone were unable to find the net on Wednesday evening as they gave up a goal in each half to a tough Lawrence Tech squad and fell 2-0 to the Blue Devils. Cornerstone drops to 4-11-1 on the year and 3-6-0 in the WHAC as they have one regular season game remaining vs. Lourdes on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for senior day.
The Highlights:
- The Blue Devils did not take long to find the net, scoring in the ninth minute on a beautiful ball from Bryce Nicholson to Skander Larfaoui to give LTU the 1-0 edge.
- In the 12th minute Davin McMullin was handed a yellow card for a hard challenge.
- Lawrence Tech continued to maintain much of the possession, taking the first seven shots of the match.
- The Blue Devils received a yellow card in the 26th minute.
- LTU took a 1-0 lead into halftime as they did not allow a single shot from the Golden Eagles.
- Nate Kaercher recorded the first CU shot in the 51st minute and it went just high.
- Cornerstone started to find some offensive rhythm but were unable to find the net.
- Cornerstone was handed a second yellow card in the 76th minute with this one being on captain Christian Galloway.
- In the 82nd minute, Lawrence Tech scored an insurance goal as Juan Jaramillo took a shot off a bounce from a defender that beat CU keeper Alan Roman.
- Cornerstone had no answer as they fell 2-0 in regulation to the Blue Devils to drop to 4-11-1 on the year.
