Galloway's Strong Week
Christian Galloway has continued to prove his strength both on and off the field, as last year he beat cancer and now he is back in the full swing of the season and is tied for the team lead in points with six on two goals and two assists. Galloway scored two of the Golden Eagles three goals in the 3-0 win at Concordia and he took the corner that resulted in the own goal that was suffered by the Cardinals. He has started all 10 contests and is third on the team with 695 minutes.
Around the WHAC
The WHAC has gone as expected for the most part through the first three games of the conference season as (9) Indiana Tech and (RV) Madonna each sit at 3-0. The rest of the conference is battling it out for the other six WHAC Tournament spots as Rochester and Lawrence Tech have gone 2-1 so far, while the last six teams are either at or below .500 in conference play.
Season High
Cornerstone recorded a season high 27 shots in the win at Concordia. This is the most Golden Eagle shots recorded since September 21, 2019 when 28 were recorded at IU-Northwest. CU also put 13 shots on goal against the Cardinals, which is also the most since the same date.
Scouting Rochester
The Warriors have already tied their most wins since the 2015 season, as they sit at 5-4, 2-1 WHAC on the year. The difference this year has been RU has found some goal scorers as they average 2.5 goals per game and have 20 so far this year. Joey Tinnion is the Head Coach of the Warriors and is in his third season as he has now started to create a veteran lineup that can score. In the Golden Eagles recordable history, the matchup between the two sides has been fairly even as CU has gone 5-3-0 in those games.
Scouting UNOH
The Racers who have never had a losing season in their 10 seasons of play, sit at 2-5-1 overall and 1-1 in WHAC play to begin the 2021 year. UNOH has suffered some heartbreaking losses, with all five losses by one goal. Last time out UNOH scored a season high six goals in a 6-0 route of Rochester for their first conference win. Similar to the women's side, Northwestern Ohio has a multitude of international players with 23 coming from a different country. Three players reign from Ohio, with one from Tennessee and Florida to round out the roster.
History Made
Last time Cornerstone and UNOH met, history was made as CU beat their first NAIA Top 10 team and did it without a goalkeeper. Now graduate
Logan Johns played his first collegiate game in net, and shutout the Racers last season for a 2-0 win on senior day. With COVID-19 so prevalent last season, John's was forced to play keeper after Roman was injured and all of the backups were quarantined. CU looks to repeat history and continue the win streak as they are 3-7-0 all-time against UNOH.
