Grand Rapids, Mich. - Director of Athletics, Jessica Yonnkers is excited to announce the hiring of Brady Van Holland as the new Men's Soccer head coach for the 2026 season. Brady joined the Cornerstone Athletic staff in December of 2025 as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations. 

Brady brings lots of experience to his new role as he was a four-year stand out player at Dordt University from 2011-15. During his career as a midfielder for the Defenders, Van Holland earned three Great Plains Athletic Conference selections accumulating 27 goals and 23 assists in his career. At the conclusion of his playing career, Brady got his first college coaching opportunity as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Covenant College in Georgia. During his time at Covenant, Van Holland helped lead the team to a 47-22-5 record over four years. After four years at Covenant, Brady landed his first head coaching position at Dakota Wesleyan University in August of 2021. The following year, Van Holland made the move to LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas where he took over as the Head Men's Soccer Coach. In his three years at LeTourneau, Van Holland held a 18-21-17 record while leading his team to two ASC Tournament Championship appearances. Brady was named the ASC Coach of the Year in 2022 along while leading his players to multiple program accolades such as two ASC Goalkeeper of the Year awards ('22,'23), one ASC Freshman of the Year ('23), ASC SAAC Team Sportsmanship Award ('22), 15 All-ASC selections, six ASC All-Tournament selections, six CSC Academic All-District and 71 ASC Academic All-Conference selections. 

Director of Athletics, Jessica Yonkers had this to say about Brady, "Brady has already made a meaningful impact on our department through his work as an Assistant Athletic Director, and it became clear that he is a natural fit to lead our men's soccer program. His ability to build authentic relationships and invest in the lives of our student-athletes aligns with who we are at Cornerstone University. We are especially grateful for the strong foundation that Coach Steve Herdsman has built. Coach Herdsman's leadership and commitment to excellence have positioned this program well for continued growth. Brady is the right leader to carry that forward, and we are confident in his ability to develop young men who will compete at a high level while growing in their faith and commitment to follow Jesus."

Coach Van Holland had this to say when asked about the opportunity, "I'm truly excited about this opportunity to be able to pursue excellence while cultivating disciples here at Cornerstone. My wife and I cannot wait to walk alongside these young men as they work through life's challenges. We want to be known as a team that has a relentless persistence on the field. This should carry into our everyday decisions as we seek the Lord and lean into him daily.
