WHAC Champions
Cornerstone has secured the WHAC Regular Season Title for the first time since 2016 and for the sixth time in program history as they are 19-2, 14-1 WHAC on the year. CU dominated the conference this season with nine WHAC sweeps and their only loss coming at Madonna. As the regular season champions, Cornerstone will host the WHAC Tournament Semifinals and Finals regardless of their Quarterfinal result on April 9-10.
WHAC Players of the Week
Cornerstone once again found two names in the WHAC Player of the Week Honors as
Kayla Clark was named Setter of the Week for the fifth time this season after a season high 51 assists vs. Spring Arbor and
Jackie Stanko was named WHAC Attacker of the Week after a season high 14 kills vs. the Cougars. Stanko also hit .444 over the two matches this past week.
Balance
Cornerstone has been one of the most balanced teams in the country this season with five different players with 100+ kills. The ball has been shared well this season as well as four of those five players all have between 300-500 attempts.
Bailey Cummings leads the team in attempts this season with 664 and she has put 222 of those balls away.
Last Time vs. NAIA Top Five
Cornerstone is playing an NAIA Top Five opponent this week in number three Indiana Wesleyan. This will be the teams first match vs. an NAIA Top Five foe since playing Lindsey Wilson who was the top ranked team in the country in the 2017 National Tournament.
Scouting Indiana Wesleyan
Indiana Wesleyan has played three games since the beginning of March as their season was played in the fall and they have gone 18-1, 12-1 CL this season. The Wildcats won both the Crossroads League Regular Season and Conference Tournament Title with the teams only loss coming in straight sets at Grace. IWU's offense is dominant as they rank fifth in the NAIA with just over 14 kills per set. Similarly to Cornerstone, there are a lot of offensive weapons at IWU as the ball is shared so well with five players all within 132-179 kills.
Scouting Saint Francis
Saint Francis has posted a 12-10, 9-7 CCAC record to currently sit eighth in their conference with two conference games remaining. USF is replacing Rochester for the Golden Eagles senior day as the Warriors are shut down due to COVID-19 for the remainder of the season. The Saints are one of the best at the net averaging 2.33 blocks per set, led by 6-4 middle hitter Lauren Stefanski at 1.29 a game. USF is another team with five players with 100+ kills as outside hitter Brooklyn Withey leads the team with 188 so far this year.
