HILLSDALE/ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Golden Eagles competed at the Hillsdale Gina Relays and the Concordia Legacy Invite this weekend and saw four school record level performances in three events. The distance runners highlighted the action, as Kelli Smith and Nygia Pollard both broke Smith's previous school record in the 5000m (Smith still holds the record), Haley Nieuwkoop broke the 10,000m school record, and Colten Covington broke the men's 10,000m school record. CU saw many other strong performances leading into the WHAC Championships next weekend at Indiana Tech.

Men's Results
The men's action opened on Thursday with Nate Vruggink highlighting multiple PR's in the men's 5000m. Vruggink earned an NAIA "B" Standard with a mark of 14:58.85. Grant Gayan and Owen Woltjer each PR'd in the event as well with times of 15:03.64 and 15:07.39 respectively.

In the 10000m later Thursday evening, Ryan Koontz added to the PR totals with a time of 31:50.19 to move him to fifth all-time in program history in the event.

On Friday evening, Luke Pohl started a historic night with an NAIA automatic mark in the 5000m with a PR of 14:39.45 to move to fifth all-time in CU program history.

Colten Covington added to the historic Friday night for Cornerstone track & field breaking the men's school record in the 10,000m with a time of 30:23.31. This mark also is an NAIA "A" Standard and good for second in the NAIA as it stands.

Also in the 10,000m, Luke Koopman recorded an NAIA provisional standard with a time of 31:26.16 to move to fifth all-time in school history.

Saturday the action transitioned to Concordia for the Legacy Invite. Freshman Bryce Black led off the action with a 43.50m PR in the discus to move to fourth all-time in CU program history.

The night ended for the men with a PR mark of 46.85m and the eighth best mark in program history in the hammer throw for Nick Huynh. Fellow freshman Nathan Tew also PR'd in the event and moved to 10th all-time with a mark of 44.04m.

Women's Results
On Thursday night the weekend's action opened with the 5000m at Hillsdale where Annika Shoemaker competed and recorded a 30 second PR of 17:58.97 to move to fifth all-time on CU's outdoor list.

On Friday, Morgan Luedy found herself qualifying in yet another event with a NAIA provisional mark in the 100m hurdles. She recorded a time of 14.90 to move to seventh all-time in program history.

Hannah Edmonds got the throwers action going with a mark of 45.31m in the hammer for a PR to move her to fourth all-time on CU's outdoor list.
