GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles continued to roll with their fourth consecutive sweep in conference play, defeating Concordia 25-14, 25-17, 25-9. Cornerstone is now 9-8 overall and remain perfect in conference play at 4-0.
Game Recap: Cornerstone – 3 CUAA – 0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-9)
- After dropping the first two points, CU rattled off three straight kills and didn't lose the first half lead from there.
- CU went on a 7-0 run early in the first set, capped by three Concordia hitting errors to go up 16-7.
- After some back and forth action for the rest of the set, Kaylee Dykema put down a kill to win the first set.
- Cornerstone started off well in the second set, going on a 6-0 run to go up 10-3 on a service ace by Rylie Walters.
- Kylie Barron, Kaylee Dykema, and Olivia Keelean put away a few kills each to finish off the second set, with Keelean delivering the set-sealing kill.
- Aubrey Lenz had back-to-back service aces to begin the third set and the Golden Eagles never looked back.
- CU won seven of the next ten points, highlighted by two Kathryn Detweiler kills and two Kaylee Dykema kills.
- Five straight attacking errors by Concordia helped CU win 12 of the last 13 points.
- Patsy Morris sealed the win on a service ace, helping the Golden Eagles win the match and win their 12thstraight set to begin conference play.
