DEARBORN, Mich. –
Jonny Strube had himself a career night to lead the Golden Eagles to an 88-79 win over UM-Dearborn. Strube had career highs in points (29), rebounds (16), assists (5), and his first career double-double. Cornerstone was able to overcome a balanced UMD offense that saw five players score in double figures. With this win, Cornerstone moves to 12-7 overall, 6-3 in the WHAC.

- Jonny Strube made a layup and splashed a three early to get things going for the Golden Eagles, who were down 7-5 early to UMD.
- CU took their first lead of the game with a Carter Nyp layup to go up 9-7 with 15:46 to play.
- Jonny Strube hit another three with 14:23 to play in the first half to extend the CU lead to 16-10.
- After some back-and-forth play, Jack Joldersma injected more life into the Golden Eagles with a dunk to put CU up 29-25 with 6:43 left.
- After a couple Cornerstone layups and a UMD three, the Golden Eagles took a 43-39 lead into halftime.
- Drew Knickerbocker started off the Golden Eagles well in the second half with an early three.
- Jonny Strube caught fire again, scoring seven on nine CU points during a stretch midway through the second half to put Cornerstone up 57-49 with 12:40 remaining in the second half.
- In a one-point game, both teams went scoreless for two minutes before Trent Summerfield hit a three to give CU a four-point advantage with 6:51 to play.
- Jonny Strube had one final strong sequence to help the Golden Eagles finish the game when he hit jumpers on back-to-back possessions to extend the CU lead to 81-73 with 3:33 remaining.
