GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles led from start to finish in the first annual Pack the House night, earning a dominant 85-55 victory over Madonna on Wednesday evening. CU moves to 3-4, 3-0 WHAC and has won their first three conference games for the first time since the 2016-17 season. All 14 players that are healthy saw the floor as CU earned the big win. Cornerstone will remain home on Saturday for a 4 p.m. start vs. Lourdes to continue WHAC play.
Game Flow:
- Cornerstone came out on Pack the House night with high pressure and outstanding offensive production, starting the game on a 12-2 run and forcing a Madonna timeout just three and a half minutes in. Maddison Fulks scored five of the first 12 in the run.
- After the timeout, Fulks stayed hot hitting another three to make it 15-2.
- The Golden Eagles would cruise to a big lead at the end of the first quarter at 27-11. CU went 10-18 from the field, while holding Madonna to 4-11 from the field.
- The pressure bothered Madonna all through the first half. Halfway through the second quarter, Mackenzie Stien had already recorded five steals as CU increased the advantage to 22 with a three from Olivia Kubik.
- At the four-minute remaining mark of the second quarter, Olviia Kubik was again left wide open hitting yet another three to make it 42-17. Maddison Fulks added a three of her own to make it 45-17 and force another Madonna timeout.
- Madonna ended the half with a 4-0 run to cut the deficit to 47-26 at the break. Maddison Fulks and Olivia Kubik combined for 27 of the teams 47 points in the half.
- After Madonna scored the first bucket to start the third, Cornerstone went on a 7-0 run with a three from Kennedy Helderop, and layups from Mackenzie Stien and Stephanie Ainsworth, increasing the lead to 54-28.
- Another Stephanie Ainsworth layup at the 4:58 mark moved the Golden Eagle lead to the largest of the day at 30, 61-31.
- Cornerstone maintained the large lead throughout the third quarter and an Olivia Kubik three brought the advantage to 31 right before the final 10 minutes.
- Cornerstone held a 70-42 advantage through three quarters.
- In the fourth quarter, the offense slowed down on both sides with just eight points being scored in the first three and a half minutes of the period.
- CU was able to get all their healthy players in, as Audrey Dryer would hit a three with 6:11 to go to make it 78-45.
- The largest lead of the game would move to 35 in the late stages of the fourth. Cornerstone would cruise to the finish line with an 85-55 victory behind a game high 18 points from Maddison Fulks.
By the numbers:
25/10 – Cornerstone forced Madonna to turn the ball over 25 times while only having 10 of their own.

Stephanie Ainsworth did a lot of the dirty work on the defensive end with six boards and four blocks to lead the team in both categories.
12-23 – CU shot a season best 52.2% from deep behind four threes each from
Maddison Fulks and
Olivia Kubik.
What's next?
Cornerstone will play Lourdes at home on Saturday for a rare 4 p.m. game following the NAIA National Tournament Women's Volleyball opening round game set to start at 1 p.m.
