GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles achieved multiple milestones on Senior Day with their four-set victory over UM-Dearborn. CU became just the second team to end the WHAC Regular Season a perfect 20-0, they earned Head Coach
Megan Lenhart's 300
th career victory as a Head Coach (209 – Davenport, 91 – Cornerstone), and secured a 29
th straight win to improve to 29-3, 20-0 WHAC. Cornerstone will now get set to host the WHAC Tournament starting on Wednesday, November 9
th. The opponent and game time are still to be announced and will be announced later.
Game Recap: #21 Cornerstone – 3 UM-Dearborn 1 (25-18, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18)
- Regan Vaughn did was she does best to open the match with a pair of service aces to spark a 4-0 run.
- Fellow Regan in Regan Rose for the Wolverines would tie things at five with a service ace of her own.
- A pair of Kathryn Detweiler kills, helped Cornerstone respond with a 7-1 run to double up UM-Dearborn at 12-6. The run included Kaylee Dykema the senior serving for the first time this year as part of Senior Day.
- UM-Dearborn again would cut the deficit to just one at 13-12, but CU did not give up the lead, going on to take set one 25-18 on a Wolverine attack error.
- Kills from seniors Rylie Walters and Kaylee Dykema helped Cornerstone get out to a 9-6 lead in set two.
- A big block from Aubrey Lenz and Kaylee Dykema increased the CU advantage to five at 12-7.
- UM-D again showed fight coming back to tie the set at 14 on a kill from Brooke Wetherill kill.
- A Wolverine block from Regan Silwinski and Regan Rose gave them the lead 19-18.
- The Golden Eagles came up big in crunch time yet again though as a pair of kills from Kaylee Dykema and a big block from Aubrey Lenz would help them secure set two 25-23.
- In set three, Cornerstone could not figure out the Sydney Eggleton serve, as they were out of system and fell behind 7-1 to force a timeout.
- The scrapy play from the veteran Golden Eagles again got them right back into the set as Patsy Morris made some outstanding plays, including a rare kill to cut the deficit to two at 9-7.
- Back-to-back hard-hitting kills from Kaylee Dykema and Olivia Keelean kept the Wolverines from pulling away in set three, cutting the deficit yet again to two, 14-12.
- Cornerstone later tied the set on a kill from Kathryn Detweiler at 16 to force UM-Dearborn into a timeout.
- The Wolverines would bounce back nicely from the timeout scoring three straight points to go on top 19-16 and force Cornerstone into a timeout.
- Kaylee Dykema continued to do it all recording a huge assist as CU saved a ball that led to an Aubrey Lenz kill to put CU within one at 21-20.
- The UM-Dearborn block would help them maintain the lead and take set three 25-22.
- Cornerstone responded nicely to start set four with a big solo block from Aubrey Lenz and a service ace from Emma Whitley to go on top 5-2.
- Rylie Walters got hot later in the set with a pair of kills to put CU on top 13-9 and force the Wolverines into their first timeout.
- UM-Dearborn used their second timeout trailing 17-12 thanks to an over kill from Aubrey Lenz.
- UM-Dearborn was let right back into the set with three errors from the Golden Eagles. CU took a timeout with a 17-16 lead.
- Cornerstone would find their way to the finish line however, taking set four 25-18 to complete the perfect WHAC regular season at 20-0. The win also served as Head Coach Megan Lenhart's 300th career victory with 91 of those coming at Cornerstone.

2019 – Cornerstone joins the 2019 Lawrence Tech team as the second ever team to go a perfect 20-0 in WHAC play.
15/12/10 – The three senior hitters of
Kaylee Dykema,
Olivia Keelean, and
Rylie Walters finished 1-2-3 in total kills with 15,12, and 10.
25 – The other senior
Patsy Morris finished the match with a team high 25 digs.
