GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone outscored Lawrence Tech by 14 in the second half behind 34-points from redshirt-senior
Christian Rodriguez, tying a career high to earn an 87-73 Valentine's Day victory. CU is getting hot at a crucial time as they are 19-9, 13-5 WHAC which puts them in third in the conference standings. The Golden Eagles have a crucial home match on Wednesday night vs. the current two seed Madonna with opening tip scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

- The three ball was falling early for both sides, as Cornerstone tied the game at nine after two threes from Christian Rodriguez and one from Drew Knickerbocker.
- CU started to pull away a little with a 7-0 run highlighted by an Eli Steffen three to make it 18-11.
- Lawrence Tech then erupted on offense going on a 29-13 run over the next nine minutes for their largest lead of 11 at 40-29. The Blue Devils hit eight threes in the run.
- Cornerstone responded with a massive run of their own in the final three and a half minutes, outscoring LTU 13-2 to tie the game at the half 42 all. 11 of the teams 13 points were scored by Carter Nyp and Jonny Strube, Strube hitting two threes including one at the buzzer to tie the game.
- Christian Rodriguez took over to start the second half, scoring eight points in the first two minutes and change to lead the Golden Eagles on a 10-3 run and force Lawrence Tech into a timeout at 52-45.
- Right after the timeout, Christian Rodriguez hit another three Increasing the Golden Eagle lead to its largest of the day at 10, 55-45 with 16:40 to play.
- Drew Knickerbocker earned an and-one bucket to continue the offensive assault by CU as the lead increased to 12 at 64-52.
- The Knickerbocker and Rodriguez show progressed as they powered a Golden Eagle 11-4 run that put CU up by 19.
- Lawrence Tech started to show some life again late as Alek Ivanovic hit a three with 5:04 to play, cutting the Blue Devil deficit to 13.
- Jack Joldersma threw down a dunk with 2:16 to play to highlight the final few minutes and put CU on top by 14 at 85-71.
- Despite LTU's best efforts to come back, Cornerstone remained up by double-figures earning an 87-73 Valentine's Day victory.
