A reminder that Cornerstone is requiring masks in all indoor facilities and we ask that fans please comply with the guidelines.

Last Week Recap

After the Golden Eagles Wednesday game was postponed due to weather, CU hit the road to take on Rochester Saturday where they earned a two point victory and followed that up with a five point loss at Northwestern Ohio on Monday night. Cornerstone is 16-9 on the year and 10-5 WHAC as they will end the year with a five game home stand starting with UM-Dearborn and UNOH again this week.

Rodriguez Eclipses 2000

Redshirt senior Christian Rodriguez has now eclipsed 2000 career points, becoming the seventh player in program history to do so. Needing just 11-points at Rochester, Rodriguez scored 13 to hit the mark. Rodriguez is now the second player in CU program history to have 2000+ career points and 500+ career assists, joining Scott O'Day from 1985-89.

Coach E nears 1000 & Alumni Game

Cornerstone has two major milestone games we would like to invite the community to, as February 19 will go down as Coach Kim Elders 1000th career game as the Golden Eagle Head Coach. The game will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. inside Mol Arena. Elders is in the top three all-time in the state of Michigan at any collegiate level for career wins with 726 and career games coached. Greg Kampe at Oakland and Steve Schmidt at Mott Community College are the only two active coaches in the state who have over 1000 career games coached.

Season Low

Cornerstone shot under 30% for the first time since 2019 in the loss at UNOH with a shooting percentage of 29.2%. The Golden Eagles hit 19-65 from the field and a season low 4-30 from behind the arc as they scored 55 points in the loss.

Scouting UM-Dearborn

The Wolverines currently sit in last place in the WHAC and have lost 11 straight for a 3-21, 1-13 conference record. After not competing last year due to COVID-19 concerns, UM-Dearborn returns with a new coach and a young roster. The team is led by Junior Elwood Tomlinson at 17.5 PPG and a team second best 2.2 APG.

Scouting UNOH

The Racers proved their strength against Cornerstone on Monday, holding CU to under 30% from the field. UNOH only averages 65.7 PPG this season but they do average around six threes per game. Northwestern Ohio has struggled significantly on the road this season going 9-4 at home and 1-10 on the road for an overall record of 10-15, 7-9 WHAC.
