SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Men's Soccer was back in action against Lawrence Tech as the Blue Devils used two second half goals to win 2-1. Dani Carrillo scored the first goal of the game in the 35^th minute but one wasn't enough as Lawrence Tech responded well in the second half. The loss moves Cornerstone to 4-7-1 on the year as they return home on Saturday, October 19 against Defiance as they celebrate their seniors for senior night.
 
Game Recap – Lawrence Tech – 2 Cornerstone - 1
 
First Half:

• Lawrence Tech came out of the gate aggressive as as their shot in the second minute was saved by the Cornerstone keeper Roberto Gutierrez.
• Roberto Gutierrez recorded his second save of the match as Lawrence Tech had back-to-back shot attempts in the 6^th minute.
• The first opportunity for the Golden Eagles came in the 9^th minute as the shot from Tyler Corstange was saved by the Blue Devil goalie.
• Lawrence Tech continued to be the aggressors in the first half of the match as more shots sailed over the goal in the 17^th minute.
• Another save by Roberto Gutierrez kept the match at zeros in the 22^nd minute.
• The Golden Eagles had great shot opportunities in the 28^th and 31^st minutes but the shots from Renan Ceccon and Tyler Corstange miss off target.
• The Golden Eagles struck first in the 35^th minute as Dani Carrillo took a shot at the 20-yard line and hits the top left corner of the net to give Cornerstone a 1-0 lead. A beautiful strike and goal.
• Cornerstone headed into halftime with a 1-0 advantage over Lawrence Tech but are outshot 12-6 in the first frame.

 
Second Half:

• Lawrence Tech like the first half, came out aggressive as their shot in the 56^th minute was saved by Roberto Gutierrez.
• After a little scrum inside the box off a corner, the Blue Devils found the equalizer in the 61^st minute with a shot that goes right over the Cornerstone keeper into the goal to tie it at one.
• After a threw ball hits a defender, the Blue Devils find the rebound a hit a shot over the defenders and into the goal to take a 2-1 advantage in the 73^rd minute.
• The Golden Eagles have struggled to control the ball in the second half as they have yet to put up a shot as the match ticks into the 80^th minute.
• The Blue Devils fend off the Golden Eagles as they go on to win 21.
