DEFIANCE, Ohio – Women's Volleyball had one final game in Ohio as they took on Defiance and came away with a 3-0 sweep. Each set, the Yellow Jackets of Defiance had a comfortable lead in which the Golden Eagles stormed back to win each one. Aubrey Johnson and Kylie Barron were on fire from the floor as Johnson recorded 17 kills on a percentage of .368 as Barron recorded 12 on a percentage of .500. Women's Volleyball improves to 17-9 (9-5) on the year as they return home to host #12 Aquinas on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 p.m.

Game Recap: #RV Cornerstone – 3 Defiance – 0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-16)
 
First Set: Cornerstone – 25 Defiance – 23

• Defiance jumped out to a quick 5-2 lead over the Golden Eagles thanks four kills.
• The Yellow jackets continued to lead early in the first set as another kill made it 8-3.
• The Golden Eagles found some momentum as they rattled off six-straight points to take a 13-11 lead thanks to kills from Aubrey Johnson and Kylie Barron.
• Aubrey Johnson, Kylie Barron, and Emmalee Murphy record three straight kills as Cornerstone leads 17-13.
• Defiance stormed back to tie the first set at 17.
• Back-and-forth affair in the last part of the first set started to favor Defiance as they lead 22-20 after a solo block.
• An Emmalee Murphy service ace and kill tied the set at 22.
• Three straight Golden Eagle points thanks to two kills from Aubrey Johnson saw Cornerstone take the first set 25-23.

 
Second Set: Cornerstone – 25 Defiance – 23

• Cornerstone leads 4-3 early in the second set after an Aubrey Lenz kill and error from the Yellow Jackets.
• Defiance has used a 7-2 run to take a 10-6 advantage over the Golden Eagles.
• Kylie Barron and Aubrey Johnson started a 3-0 run to make it a 10-9 set.
• A long run by the Yellow Jackets sees them take a 15-9 advantage as the Golden Eagles call a timeout.
• Defiance continued to hold off the Golden Eagles as they lead late 18-14.
• A signature Cornerstone 7-0 run saw them take the lead late 21-18 as Aubrey Johnson, Kylie Barron, and Aubrey Lenz had all the kills.
• Defiance returned the favor with a run of their own to take a 23-22 lead over the Golden Eagles late.
• Like the first set, Cornerstone finished the second set on a 3-0 run thanks to a kill and service ace from Aubrey Johnson as Kylie Barron found the final kill.

 
Third Set: Cornerstone – 25 Defiance – 16

• It was a battle to open the third set as a kill from Aubrey Johnson and Kylie Barron made it 4-4.
• Defiance for the third set in a row, won the race to 10 as they lead 10-8.
• A kill from Aubrey Johnson sparked a 5-0 Cornerstone run that saw them take a 16-12 advantage. Kylie Barron had two kills in the run.
• Kills from Emmalee Murphy and Gabby VerBerkmoes sparked another 5-0 Cornerstone run as they now lead late 21-13.
• Cornerstone completed the sweep of Defiance as Emma Whitley recorded a service ace to win the third set 25-16.
