FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Women's Volleyball returned to action on the final day of the Conference Crossover Tournament as they opened their day with a 3-2 victory over #RV Lindsey Wilson, completing the reverse sweep.
Gabby VerBerkmoes was all over as she led the way with 14 kills and seven blocks in the victory. The Golden Eagles would then take on #14 Grace and completed a 2-0 day with a five-set upset victory.
Aubrey Johnson recorded a career high 21 kills with
Gabby VerBerkmoes adding 14 kills and eight blocks in the victory. Cornerstone moves to 12-8 on the year as they return home to take on Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday, October 9 at 7 p.m.
Game One Recap: Cornerstone – 3 #RV Lindsey Wilson – 2 (22-25, 15-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-11)
First Set: #RV Lindsey Wilson – 25 Cornerstone - 22
- Cornerstone opened the first set on a 3-1 run thanks to back-to-back kills from Aubrey Johnson.
- A big 6-1 run by Lindsey Wilson sees them take a 7-4 lead over Cornerstone.
- Cornerstone has stormed back to take an 11-9 lead that forced Lindsey Wilson into a timeout after a service ace from Aubrey Lenz.
- It continued to be all Cornerstone in the first set as four straight errors by the Blue Raiders made it a 15-11 Golden Eagle lead.
- Kills from Kylie Barron and Gabby VerBerkmoes makes it a 20-15 Golden Eagle lead late in the first set.
- Lindsey Wilson has used a quick 3-0 run to force the Golden Eagles into a timeout as it is 20-18.

- After a block from Kylie Barron and Emmalee Murphy, the Golden Eagles now lead 11-9.
- A 7-2 run by the Blue Raiders forced the Golden Eagles into a timeout as Cornerstone finds themselves down 16-13.
- The run continued for Lindsey Wilson as they now lead 24-13.

Third Set: Cornerstone – 25 #RV Lindsey Wilson – 20
- After two service errors by Lindsey Wilson, the start of set three is tied 2-2.
- Two kills from Gabby VerBerkmoes ties the match at five.
- The third set continued to go back-and-forth as a block from Gabby VerBerkmoes and Emmalee Murphy gave Cornerstone an 11-10 lead.
- A kill from Aubrey Johnson reties the third set, this time at 14.
- The Golden Eagles have started to find some late momentum as the Blue Raiders were forced to call a timeout as it is now 19-17.

- A kill from Emmalee Murphy and Aubrey Johnson helped Cornerstone open the first set to a 2-2 tie.
- The points continued to be traded in the first set as it is now 7-7.
- Grace used a 4-0 run to take a 13-10 lead over the Golden Eagles.
- Cornerstone was forced to call their first timeout of the set as the Lancers have extended their lead to 17-13.
- It continued to be all Grace, but a small Cornerstone run highlighted by an Aubrey Johnson kill made it 21-16.
- Grace closed out the first set strong as they win 25-19.
Second Set: Cornerstone – 25 #14 Grace – 19
- Grace opened the second set strong with a 3-1 run to open the frame.
- The Golden Eagles responded with a 3-1 run of their own thanks to kills from Aubrey Johnson and Gabby VerBerkmoes.
- Grace continued to put early pressure on the Golden Eagles as they have extended their lead 9-6.
- Kills from Emmalee Murphy and Aubrey Johnson highlighted a Golden Eagle 3-0 run to tie it at nine.

- Out of the timeout, the Golden Eagles used a 4-0 run to cut into the Lancer lead as it is now 10-7 after kills from Emmalee Murphy and Aubrey Johnson.
- Grace jumped out to a big 16-9 lead as the Golden Eagles called their final timeout of the frame.
- It continued to be all Grace as a Golden Eagle error makes it 19-11.
- The Golden Eagles have found themselves just down by three thanks to a 5-0 run highlighted by kills from Gabby VerBerkmoes and Emmalee Murphy.
- The run continued for Cornerstone as Grace was forced to call a timeout as errors from the Lancers makes it 20-19.
- Out of the timeout, Grace used a quick 4-1 run to make it 24-20 late.
- The Golden Eagles stuck around as kills from Kylie Barron made it 24-23 but the comeback fell short as the Lancers take set three 25-23.
Fourth Set: Cornerstone – 25 #14 Grace - 19
- Cornerstone jumped out to an early 5-1 run thanks to multiple errors and a service ace from Emmalee Murphy.
- The Golden Eagles continued to lead the way in the fourth set as kills from Emmalee Murphy and Aubrey Johnson made it 11-6.
- Aubrey Johnson continued to lead the way for the Golden Eagles as her back-to-back kills made it 16-12 Cornerstone.
- Kylie Barron joined in on the hit parade with a kill of her own to make it 20-16 as the Golden Eagles are five points away from a set four victory.
- Aubrey Lenz floats a serve and drops right before the end line for a service ace as the Golden Eagles lead 23-18.
- Lydia Uganski and Aubrey Johnson put the final touches on the fourth set to win it 25-19 to force a fifth set.
